We have teamed up with SafeHouse Outreach to ensure this event will benefit our local neighbors in need through the donation of the textile materials (blankets, sheets, clothes, etc.) used to build the fort.

The competition is also a joint effort with local youth from SafeHouse Outreach to introduce the children both to the design industry as well as opportunities to give back to the community. Our team will be joining the art class provided by SHO to children ages 5-15 to lead some activities around fort and space design. These classes will in turn generate inspirational images that the competition teams will be able to utilize in their designs.  These children will also have an opportunity to see the final forts at OFS and understand how their sketches and images inspired an entire event.

Please visit the SafeHouse Outreach website for more information about the services they offer our community as well as more opportunities to give. You can also check out our post on a recent tour at SHO.
